5.8-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Myanmar

An earthquake of 5.8 magnitude struck Myanmar's Yangon region Monday night, according to the Meteorology and Hydrology Department. The earthquake struck at 8:49 p.m. local time The epicenter was 35.4 km northwest of Yangon and 8.04 km southwest of Taik Kyi township, outskirt of Yangon region. The quake was felt in some townships including Insein, Hlaingtharyar, South Dagon, Bahan and in Maubin township of Ayeyawaddy region, Some pagodas in Taik Kyi were affected by the quake.
